Therefore, understanding the complexities, we have attempted to provide training in the development of life skills in order to help them feel more confident and independent.
There are various support services available with funding from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to ensure you or your loved ones live life to the fullest. The Life Skills and Development Services include:
Personal Care Training
Personal care training services taught your loved ones how to do everyday self-care activities like washing, clothing, grooming, and using the restroom. This kind of instruction can be given anywhere, including at home, in a care facility, or as part of a community-based program.
Communication Skills
Communication skills assist you or your loved ones in learning the skills that are necessary to communicate with others effectively. The training is provided to them by a variety of professionals, including speech-language therapists, special education teachers, and communication specialists.
Socialisation Skills
Socialisation skills services for you or your loved ones can help them to develop the ability to interact with others, build relationships, and navigate social situations. These services include one-on-one therapy sessions, group therapy sessions, and classes or workshops focused on specific social skills. The focus of these services will vary depending on the needs of the individual and can include topics such as communication, body language, and empathy.
Independent Living Assistance
Independent living assistance services help you or your loved ones to live as independently as possible.This service provides assistance to you or your loved ones with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care, as well as help with managing finances, transportation, and other practical needs.
Mobility & Coordination Training
Mobility and coordination training services assist you or your loved ones to become more physically capable and independent. These services include adapted exercise programs, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. While occupational therapy concentrates on teaching you or your loved ones on how to conduct daily tasks like dressing, eating, and grooming, physical therapy may concentrate on strengthening flexibility, and balance.
